NEW YORK (PIX11) – A knife-wielding man slashed two people inside the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan hours before New Year’s, according to the FDNY.
The bus station was placed under lockdown as cops searched for the attacker.
The slashing happened at about 8:30 p.m. just blocks from the crowded Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration. According to witnesses, the fight may have broken out between two homeless groups, it is unclear what started it.
After the fight broke out, some people rushed into nearby bathrooms for safety, witnesses say.
Both victims were rushed to an area hospital, although the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police are looking for a suspect described as a Hispanic man wearing fatigues who may be armed with either a knife or a razor.
