NEW YORK (PIX11) — One of New York’s most recognizable voices was honored in Manhattan. Legendary newsman Stan Brooks was laid to rest Friday.
Hundreds filled Riverside Chapel on the Upper West Side to remember the long time radio anchor.
Brooks was a fixture on 1010 WINS for five decades, and led its transformation from playing rock records to the country’s first all-news radio station.
Brooks passed away at his Manhattan home on Dec. 23. He was 86.
