De Blasio inauguration tickets scalped on Craigslist

NEW YORK (PIX11) – After 1,000 free tickets to see Bill de Blasio’s mayoral inauguration were  snatched up two hours after their release on Thursday, they’re already popping up on Craigslist  — for a price.

Craigslist users are now scalping the tickets, ranging from $1 to $30 a stub, following the immense public interest in getting  a seat at de Blasio’s inauguration, set for Jan 1. at noon at City Hall Park.

An ad posted around 2 p.m. Thursday, below,  promises a chance to meet the new mayor.  “So maybe you’ get to meet him?” the scalper offers up hopefully.

Another Craigslist user, below,  is selling his three tickets for $30 a pop.

Others took to Craigslist to find tickets. One poster, a lifelong New Yorker, would “love to be part of NYC history.”

Along with de Blasio, attendees will witness the inaugurations of  Public Advocate Letitia James and Comptroller Scott Stringer.

“Inauguration 2014 will be one of the most open and accessible events of its kind in New York City’s history,” Gabrielle Fialkoff, the event’s chairwoman said in a statement.
