NEW YORK (AP) — A New York City cab driver is losing his taxi license after a passenger complained that he tried to pick her up in more ways than one.

The New York Post reported Thursday that a judge declared driver Mirza Baig’s conduct “unprofessional, crude and offensive.”

The woman took Baig’s cab from LaGuardia Airport to a Brooklyn apartment on March 17. He’d been driving a taxi for seven months.

She told investigators he asked her a string of personal questions, including whether she had a boyfriend and would be spending the night with him. She said the driver then suggested he and she should “get together” and made a comment about her figure.

Baig’s lawyer says the driver meant just to flirt, not to be disrespectful.

But the city Taxi and Limousine Commission argued the driver was a “threat to the riding public.”
