NEW YORK (PIX11) — Senior CBS news correspondent  John Miller is leaving the network to rejoin the NYPD.

He will work with his former boss, incoming Police Commissioner Bill Bratton, who previously served as New York’s top cop during the mid 1990s.

Miller, who worked with CBS since 2011, was a chief spokesman for the NYPD under Bratton in 1990s and also served as New York City deputy police commissioner from 1994-95.

Miller did not elaborate about his future role at the NYPD in his interview with CBS. However, he discussed his views on what should be the NYPD’s priorities.

“The trend is leaning towards low-cost, low-tech, high-impact,” Miller told CBS 2 on Thursday.
