HARLEM (PIX11) – Firefighters are working to bring an aggressive 3-alarm blaze under control in Harlem Friday.

The fire started around 8:45 p.m. inside a salon called Hair & Body Control at 212 West 145th Street, according to the FDNY.  It has since spread to neighboring commercial buildings, including a church, and is endangering nearby homes.

Some 100 firefighters are now on the scene, but the cold weather is making it difficult as water is starting to freeze in the hydrants and on the roads.

It was upgraded from three to four alarms around 10:30 p.m.

No injuries have been reported.
