BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (PIX11) – In New Jersey, the waitress who claimed a couple did not tip her because she is gay has lost her job.

The Bridgewater restaurant, Gallop Asian Bistro, released a statement saying, “In light of the investigation and recent events, both Ms. Morales and Gallop Asian Bistro have made a joint decision that Ms. Morales will no longer continue her employment at our restaurant.”

The former marine posted a photo on the “Have a Gay Day” Facebook page showing a receipt with, “I’m sorry but I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle,” written on it and a line drawn through the tip area.

Waitress in anti-gay receipt hoax fired from job

Morales’ friends and former coworkers say she has a history of lying.

The waitress received over $3,000 in donations from strangers, all of which she said she would donate to the Wounded Warriors Project. As of this week, reports show no money has been donated to the organization on behalf of Morales.

Some of those who donated have said they received refunds.

The story crumbled after the couple that Morales reportedly served produced receipts showing an $18 gratuity on a bill of $93.55.

Friends and former coworkers of Morales have come forward saying she “lies about everything.”

“Overall, this has been an unfortunate incident for Gallop Asian Bistro, our employees and our customers,” the statement goes on to say. “We are dedicated to providing excellent Asian cuisine and superior service. We have the utmost faith in our management and staff and we welcome the opportunity to serve our customers.”

Morales claims she served in Afghanistan and had cancer, none of which are apparently true.
