NEW YORK (PIX11) —Holiday shopping season is only four days away and is starting earlier than ever.
Macy’s plans to open at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night. Not all shoppers are on board with the early opening.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea from Macy’s to be open, that’s a time for families,” said shopper Carly Callahan.
The official start of the holiday shopping season, 7 million fewer shoppers than last year.
Thanksgiving falls on a later date this year, meaning there are six fewer shopping days between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
According to the National Retail Federation, people will be spending two percent less this holiday season compared to last season. Retail experts say door buster deals will be in short supply.
