A woman shopping at the mall where a gunman opened fire Monday night says she knew him.

A 17-year-old girl who identified herself only as Jay says she recognized 20-year-old Richard Shoop right away when she saw his picture on the news.

“When I saw his tattoos on the picture… I’m like it’s obviously him,” she said.

Shoop worked at a local pizzeria and was always friendly to customers.

She said Shoop was “as normal as they come.”

“I would have never expected this from him,” she said. “He was always full of joy, you could always see him smiling.”
