SUNSET PARK, Brooklyn (PIX11) – Five people are dead, four of them children, after a bloody stabbing spree in Brooklyn.
Paramedics discovered 37-year-old Chinese immigrant Qiao Zhen Li and her four children covered in blood inside their home on 57th Street in Sunset Park just before 11 p.m. The children killed in the brutal attack were Linda Zhuo, 9, Amy Zhuo, 7, Kebin Zhuo, 5, and William Zhuo, 1, according to police. The father of the children was not home at the time.
Cops say 25-year-old Mingdong Chen, a cousin of the Zhen’s husband, confessed to butchering the family with a meat cleaver. Chen, who has been in the U.S. since 2004, was a drifter, cops said, and bounced between homes and jobs.
Police believe Chen became enraged when Li asked him to leave the home because he was acting strangely.
Chen has been charged with one count of first degree murder, four counts of second degree murder and five counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
