NEW YORK (PIX11) – Tiona Rodriguez on social media appears as any teenage girl would: status updates about school, job interviews and life.

But Friday night Rodriguez also faces the prospect of murder charges after she was caught allegedly shoplifting in Manhattan with a dead child in her shopping bag.

Rodriguez was arrested Thursday, along with her friend Francis Estevez for shoplifting at The Victoria’s secret in Herald Square.  She told police she was six months pregnant and that the infant was stillborn.

But, according to new reports, a Medical Examiner’s officer found the infant was full term and possibly born alive.  More tests are being conducted to find out exactly how the baby died.

PIX11 didn’t get an answer at the Glendale queens homes of Tiona Rodriguez where she lives with her 2-year-old son and mother.

The cause of the child’s death is still not clear pending the Medical Examiner’s full report.
