BROWNSVILLE, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A mother and her 11-day-old infant were found dead Thursday morning in their Brooklyn apartment.

At 10 a.mm Thursday morning, police responded to a 911 call for an unconscious woman and baby in 50 Legion Street in Brownsville.

When cops arrived at the apartment, they found Margarine Lyons, and her child, Preston Warren Alexander, unresponsive. The child was underneath Lyons’ body, police sources told PIX11.

Lyons’ two six-year-old sons were unharmed in another bedroom of the apartment at the time.

The woman’s brother lives downstairs and called 911 when he found the two unresponsive.

Both the 34-year-old mother and child were rushed to Brookdale Hospital and pronounced dead upon arrival.

Authorities did not detect any signs of trauma and the city Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
