NEW JERSEY (PIX11) — New Jersey Governor Chris Christie wants the state’s top court to block a judge’s gay marriage ruling.

Last week, a judge ruled the state must allow same-sex marriages.

Yesterday, New Jersey’s acting Attorney General John Hoffman sent a letter to the high court asking the justices to take the case immediately.

Hoffman is also asking the judge to grant a stay, delaying the implementation date from October 21 until the matter can be settled.
