Manning vs. Manning face-off puts spotlight on sibling rivalry

HOBOKEN (PIX11) – With the Williams sisters, the Harbaugh brothers and the Manning brothers, sports definitely has its fair share of sibling rivalries.

At some point in their careers, they’ve all went head-to-head and this weekend Eli and Peyton will face off  yet again when the Denver Broncos take on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in the third and perhaps final Manning bowl.

These brothers have long said there is no rivalry but with one extra Super Bowl title to brag about — Eli has two while Peyton has one — it’s hard to believe that.

Whether there’s a sibling rivalry or not, the Mannings really can’t hold a candle to some of the more infamous sibling feuds over the years that were not so secret.

Identical twin sisters Ann Landers and Abigail Van Buren were inseparable as kids but when each rolled out their own advice columns, “Ask Ann Landers” and “Dear Abby” — it was a full blown war.

When it comes to sibling conflict, Oscar winners Olivia de Havilland and Joan Fontaine take the cake.

The sisters have been feuding for nine decades. They have long competed for the same men, the same parts and even came to blows when they were up for a “Best Actress” Oscar.
