(PIX11) – A 96-year-old man caught the attention of music producers with an emotional tribute to his late wife.

Fred Stobaugh of Peoria, Illinois,  will be the first to admit he’s no musician, but the lyrics he wrote are now being shared with the world.

Fred wrote the song “Oh Sweet Lorraine” for his wife that passed away last April. The couple, who met in 1938, were married for 73 years.

He submitted the lyrics to a song writing contest at the Green Shoes Studios in Illinois.

Fred didn’t win, but producers said they were so touched; they put the lyrics to music and produced the song for free.

“Oh Sweet Lorraine” is now available on iTunes.
