(PIX11) – A 93-year-old woman and her 65-year-old daughter were attacked and robbed while visiting their childhood home in Washington Heights Tuesday morning.

Marjorie Ramondetta and her daughter Linda Reynolds are in pain, walking around with wounds and bruises.

The mother and daughter decided to visit Romondetta’s childhood apartment in Washington Heights. After 73 years, they wanted to see how the neighborhood had changed.

But, the two got more than they bargained for and a dose of harsh reality.

Police say Richard Davidson, 25, approached the pair and invited them inside for a closer look at their old apartment. Once inside, he allegedly tried to grab their purses but the women would not let go. Davidson then pushed the Ramondetta and Reynolds down a flight of stairs.

Doctors and police say the women are lucky, but it will take months before they are fully healed.

Although their latest experience was not pleasant, the women say they will always hold Washington Heights near and dear, as a place where their families started out.

“I don’t know what I’d say to him, what can you say?” Ramondetta said when asked what she would say to Davidson if saw him.

Police say Davidson is suspected in a slew of other robberies in the area and has at least 21 prior arrests.
