Woman falls to her death while riding roller coaster at Six Flags in Texas

(PIX11) – There was tragedy at a Six Flags amusement park in Arlington, Texas.

A woman was tossed to her death while riding the “Texas Giant” roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas. Witnesses say she got onto the coaster just after 6:30 Friday night with her son, and fell out during one of the sharp twists and steep drops.

Six Flags kept the park open, but shut down the ride.

It’s the tallest steel-hybrid roller coaster in the world.

Officials are tight-lipped about exactly why this happened, but local police are not considering it a criminal investigation.
