Bronx freight train derailment

BRONX, NEW YORK (PIX11)- A freight train derailed in the Riverdale section of the Bronx around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Several cars of a 24 car garbage train were off the track along the Metro North Hudson line.

The FDNY has requested train traffic be stopped on all tracks.

The cars are derailed near the Spuyten-Duyvil Metro North Station.

Shuttle buses are on the way for stranded passengers.

The fire department says there are no injuries, no fire, and does not believe there are any hazardous materials involved.

The derailment could most likely affect tomorrows commute.
