(PIX11) – In a case that echoes his father’s sex scandal, the son of former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor has been charged in the sexual assault of two girls.

Lawrence Taylor Jr., 31, was arrested in his Powder Springs, Georgia home early Sunday following an incident just before midnight. The warrant states that Taylor forcibly performed oral sex on a girl, who was described only as under 18.

A statutory rape charge was added when a second girl, who was also at the scene and was described as under 16, told police she had sex with Taylor “five to six times” last year.

His father, a former linebacker for the New York Giants, faced a similar scandal in 2010. He was hit with rape charges involving a 16-year-old runaway, but pleaded guilty to lesser charges of patronizing a prostitute and sexual misconduct.

He remains on probation and is a registered sex offender.

The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office said Taylor Jr. was arrested on three felony charges: statutory rape, statutory aggravated sodomy (oral sex), and aggravated child molestation.

Taylor Jr., who is being held without bail, faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
