VIRGINIA (PIX11)– Dozens of people were injured after a car drove into the crowd at a parade at the Virginia-Tennessee border.
Authorities say the male driver suffered from a medical condition and did not intentionally crash into the hikers.
About 60 people suffered injuries, three were airlifted from the scene and taken to local hospitals.
“And we heard screams behind us and he sort of pushed us out of the way from it. And we, me and all of us, we looked back and saw… misery,” said a witness at the scene.
Amazingly no one died in the crash.
The police have not yet released the identity of the driver.
