Toms River, NJ (PIX11) – The father of a young boy who shot and killed his 6-year-old neighbor while playing with a gun was arrested and charged with several counts of endangerment, officials announced Monday afternoon.
Anthony Senatore, 33, had “multiple unsecured weapons accessible to children,” according to a statement from acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain. Senatore faces five charges of second-degree child welfare endangerment and one count of third-degree child welfare endangerment.
On April 8th, 6-year-old Brandon Holt was accidentally shot in the head by his 4-year-old neighborhood playmate. Holt was pronounced dead at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police said the 4-year-old fired a .22 caliber rifle from 15 yards away at Holt, his friend, while the two were playing in his backyard.
