Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty gave PIX11 News a special look at the 1.3 mile boardwalk completely destroyed now officially almost ready for summer.

There are still no restrooms,
no pavilions, no beach badge stations but that doesn’t stop the countdown.
And the Mayor says it will be ready.

To know the Jersey Shore is to know Djais. Six months ago this beach club was underwater, now it’s reopened.

They’ve been through so much.
A smile pops up when residents hear Prince Harry is visiting the Jersey Shore.

Mayor Doherty is projecting bigger crowds than last year based on the number of beach badges they’ve sold and the way summer rentals are filling up.
