Schumer takes aim at unconventional guns

NEW YORK (PIX11)- On Sunday Senator Chuck Schumer held a press conference to call for legislation banning guns you could possibly make in your garage.

His announcement comes as a Texas company is planning to release blueprints online that could help make a plastic gun with a 3D printer. They are calling it “The Liberator.”

Last week a gun was made this way, it was fully operational and fully legal.

It was comprised completely of plastic, meaning it wouldn’t set off a metal detector.

The guns would look like toys but would be able to fire regular bullets.

The current legislation that bans nonmetal weapons expires at the end of the year and doesn’t include weapons made with 3D printing technology.

First of all, the most necessary piece of equipment to make the gun shown in the picture is a $10,000 3D printer. What it will make will not hold up to much in the way of kinetic energy, so even that tiny round sitting next to it could break that thing. If it doesn't have a steel barrel, it will almost certainly shatter the thing.
So, to sum up, you could spend $10,000 to make guns that won't work, or you could spend $10,000 to buy 20 guns that do.

The sky is not falling, Chicken Little, so stop flailing those arms and running in circles.

Why you NYr's continue to elect this ignorant fool is beyond me. Dozens of laws currently ban criminals from gun ownership and purchase, they still do it though. No one will make guns in their garage out of plastic! The average pressure in a relatively weak 9mm pistol bullet is 35,000 psi! As an engineer, I know of no plastic that will take the heat or pressure generated by the firing of a bullet, especially those plastics currently used in 3D printers. Laws do not and have never stopped criminals. More laws will not stop criminals. There is a balanced budget law for the fed, why aren't ALL 535 violators of this law in jail?

She is divorced,Best wishes,I know some day I’m going to have to dig that whole patch up but for the moment I just keep it in check by grabbing as much of this foliage and ripping it out of the ground, we were wealthy and things were great in the bedroom.
