Brooklyn navy yard worker dies in elevator accident

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (PIX11)- An elevator accident at the Brooklyn navy yard has taken the life of a man.

25-year-old Inunion Tursunov was stuck between floors on Friday night when the elevator he was riding in lost power.

Cops were called to get him out but he tried to get out on his own.

Tursunov got both doors open but fell through a gap. Authorities say darkness may have contributed to his fall.

He went down four or five stories and later died at Brooklyn Hospital.

The Bensonhurst resident worked at the navy yard.
