Two detained for allegedly detonating homemade bombs in Bayonne

Bayonne Police are questioning two young men taken into custody this afternoon after allegedly detonating several small explosions inside an apartment on 33rd Street.

Cops say Christopher Ziobro was allegedly experimenting with explosives when he set off two small home made bombs on the fire escape of his top floor apartment on 33rd Street.

The 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old pal, Ghaias Mirza, told cops they got the idea to build a bomb from a Youtube video.

Neighbors were not amused.

Bob Dunne who lives in the apartment directly below the explosions says his apartment was shaken and his windows covered in ash after the two loud blasts.

Cops including bomb squad personnel carefully searched the apartment and removed items including a computer.

The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.

If they had no intention of hurting anyone the jack asses wouldn't be doing what they were doing. They could have started a fire to say the least. Idiots. They need to made an example of.

Are you fucking serious? I know Chris, and he wouldn't hurt a fly. If they was planning on hurting someone, they would've done it. He threw the bomb out the window because it was about to explode. I know their actions weren't the smartest, even with the current events, but give the kids some slack.

no. those kids are roughly the same age as the bomber who was just captured, does he also deserve "slack"? for being just a kid? of should he be treated like the monster that he is? I agree that they should be made an example of, to a degree. It should not be ok to experiment with homemade explosives in a residential area. Period.

U must be on fucking drugs,,, give the kids some slack? Right..then the next time they experiment its next to your wife or kids. SMH!

I so agree w/u Sheila and I also think that things should not be posted anywhere online to teach idiots like this to do crazy things like they did.. and do…

people who go out and drink and drive do not have the intention of hurting anyone either… but if you are caught you still go to jail. Involuntary stupidity must be stopped.

Oh yeah with kids and people out below. They said the bastards from Boston wouldn’t hurt anyone either yet an 8 year old is among the dead and people are mutilated. 21 isn’t a kid. There was Acid
In it, if someone opened a window that would have been it! The jerk has a violent history so don’t lie. Now he’s on the FBI s watch. And if u think it’s nothing, it’s OK because they are checking all his contacts too. Hope they rot in jail.

They were boys playing around (at a time when people are jumpy and paranoid) with household chemicals (toilet bowl cleaner, tin foil, and a bottle (milk jug in this case). It's simple chemistry; there is NO FLAME involved. The noise is shockingly loud.

To report on this is like reporting on mentos and coke….

ok so theses where stupid kids that follow you tube like the thousands that do follow you tube. My question in this case , Where the hell are the parents? You let kid do what ever the hell they want? At that age we know damn well they will be drinkin & smoking like the rest and parents eyes should of been on them. So where are the parents? When does a parent take a blame. Now the Boston case totally different. They were from another country another faith. Their hate for America is thier mission to distroy Americans.Their father, mother, aunt and uncle all seemed unstabled & ready to blame others. Stop stupid Kids…. go on their computers, meet their friends get involved…. All children need guidenence don't let thme become 18 and have nothing to do but create stupid boobs, shootings, drugs and even bulling, Parents this is your call………

Its easy to call someone a monster when you don’t no them.chris is a nice funny kid who would never hurt anyone he is loved by teachers and friends. He was never intending on hurting someone he just did something stupid. He did not intend on hurting anyone or anything.I’m not supporting his actions or making excuses I am simply telling you about his character

@ someone, Are you kidding me? "He never intended to hurt someone". At his age he should know between right and wrong. Especially after the Boston tragedies. You don't even know your own friend just like the friends of the Boston Bombings..they never knew what they were capable of. Secondly, learn how to spell…the word is KNOW….NOT NO. Figures your Chris' friend.

These kids should be held responsible for what they did .this is not a game .If they didn't want to hurt or destroy anything they would not of built it,they wanted to do some kind of damage to something or someone. What kind of person builds a bomb just to see what would happen especially in a house and right after what happen with the marathon. These are sick kids and have an evil mind, everything is peaches and cream until someone gets hurt or dies. There parents must be real proud. If kids want to have some fun get yourselves back outside and start playing sports again and stay off the dam computers. We never had this problem when I was young. They should be punished and now what they did will follow them for the rest of their lives…..

I do feel as a parent you should be able to trust your kids at that age,not to blow up your house …what a shame

    They aren't kids!
One is 21 and the other 18; both viewed as adults by the law.
They are old enough to have known better.
What if there were people walking or driving by?

They did not make a bomb!! They made a chemistry experiment which makes a really loud bang. In fact, I just learned how to do this 4 weeks ago and it's amazing that something so small (a soda bottle in this case) could make such a loud bang. It's a homemade firecracker without the FIRE. It wasn't going to kill anyone for crying out loud. Their timing was poor due to the mental climate of the nation. For those that are condemnatory, this is the wrong story. If these things were truly dangerous to others, I'd agree with you. But you're laboring over a mentos-and-coke type of experiment, a vinegar and baking soda experiment…

The "boys" made a judgement error. An apartment building was the wrong place to set these things off. But, in the right place, anyone would say Whoa! That was cool! I can't believe it was just cleaner and tin foil!
