NEW YORK (PIX11)- The annual Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival kicked off on Sunday afternoon.
From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. parade goers walked along Fifth Avenue to celebrate the holiday.
It was a sea of colorful and creative bonnets from 49th Street to 57th Street.
Not leaving the pets out participates dressed up and toted around their furry friends.
This tradition started in the 1800’s when women would walk around the city after mass showing off their finest Easter Sunday attire.
