Shoplifter claims killer ‘mob’ made him steal food

A Georgia man who was arrested for shop lifting is claiming a killer mob made him do it.

Police in Athens say David Webb was caught stealing by a security guard at Kroger market at about 1 a.m. Thursday.

Online Athens.com reports, when cops arrived to the scene, they found the security chasing the 29-year-old around  the store’s parking lot.

When Webb was finally tackled, the officer arrested the man who had a package of chicken nuggets, deodorant, two large blocks of chees and two packages of link sausages.

The thief told the arresting officer “they’re going to kill me.”

When asked who “they” were, Webb said a “mob” and also insisted that this so-called “mob” made him steal the food too.

According to the arrest report, at one point Webb asked the officer to “kill him.”

Webb was charged with theft by shoplifting and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
