1 World Trade Center’s observation deck approved

The Port Authority has approved an $875-million dollar deal for an observation deck at 1 World Trade Center.

The deck will occupy three floors atop the 102-story tower, and will feature a restaurant, displays about World Trade Center

history and a theater. But unlike the original observation deck atop the South Tower, the new complex will not feature an outdoor space.

Legends Hospitality Management, which runs Yankee Stadium, will operate what is called One World Observatory. The elevator to the deck will whisk you upstairs in just 60 seconds.

But don’t plan to book your tickets just yet – the deck will open in 2015.
