Dr. Oz sued over sleep remedy gone terribly wrong

Dr. Oz

Dr. Oz is now facing a lawsuit after a New Jersey man claims he burned himself badly using one of the t.v. hosts home sleep remedies.

Dr. Mehmet Oz was hit with a lawsuit from one of his viewers who claims he tried out one of the t.v. host’s home sleep remedies — with very painful results.

Frank Dietl, 76, filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court Monday after he allegedly suffered burns from wearing heated, rice-filled socks, the New York Post reported.  Dietl, the older brother of former cop-turned-celebrity private eye, claims he awoke with third-degree burns on his feet.

Dietl suffers from neuropathy as a result of diabetes — a condition that has led to a decrease in sensation in his feet.

“What upset me was that Oz should have had a disclaimer for people with neuropathy,’’ Dietl said.

Show spokesman Tim Sullivan told the Post he hadn’t seen the specific complaint but added, “We stand by the content in our program as safe and educational for our viewers.’’

As a diabetic he should have known to ask his primary doctor BEFORE trying to use it since diabetics have several issues with their feet and legs.

As a diabetic personally, the first thing you do as with anyone with a special condition is ask your primary doctor is it safe. I watch his shows all the time and used a lot of his tips safely and under doctors supervision.

Why does there need to be a disclaimer for people's stupidity! If you suffer from diabetic neuropathy in your feet than you should be aware of that fact that your feet cannot feel and taken precautions for yourself. It's not Dr. Oz's fault, This country is lawsuit happy and it's ridiculous!

Stop blaming others for your decisions at your age! Your should be ashamed of yourself hiring an ambulance chaser for yet one more frivolous lawsuit!

Some people think a doctor is just a toilet. Hopefully that man will get the help he really needs at the local lock down psychiatric hospital!
