It was a total meltdown for former New York Knicks player Renaldo Balkman Friday, when he choked one of his own players after a loss to the Alaska Aces of the Philippine Basketball League.

Renaldo Balkman was clearly displeased with the no-call on his air ball to end a Philippine Basketball Association game. Balkman’s total meltdown included him pushing his own coach, harassing three referees and finally choking his own teammate.

Balkman missed a shot with under 30 seconds to play and his Petron Blaze Boosters down seven.  His four-foot air ball didn’t elicit a foul call, and that was all the Staten Island native could take.

After first berating not one, not two, but three referees and shoving his own assistant coach, teammates tried to calm him down.

Balkman even shoved the assistant coach on Petron, Biboy Ravanes.

In full freakout mode, Balkman pushed away his teammate Arwind Santos, who didn’t take kindly to it and pushed him back.

Balkman lost it completely at that point, grabbing Santos by the throat and choking him.

Before the wheels came off, Balkman had been something of a hero for the Boosters, according to AKTV, playing a major role in a 5-game winning streak that ended with his best Latrell Sprewell impersonation.
