The hunt is on in Queens for a creep accused of browsing an Astoria library — not for books — but for his next victim.

Cops say the man caught on security footage molested a 15-year-old girl as she searched for a book on a bottom shelf, then fled.

Councilman Peter Vallone (D-Astoria) says this is not the first time a child has been preyed upon in the library. “You got to keep an eye on your kid all the time. The library staff is trained to keep an out. This is the second time though this has happened.”

Vallone believes these incidents are cause for heightened security in libraries and tighter restrictions on who can enter the children’s sections.

Sources tell Pix 11 News that the suspect is possibly a library member which may help authorities track him down. The suspect is described as a man in his 40’s wearing a tan jacket, black shirt, gray hat and jeans.
