A principal at a Bronx Junior High School has parents questioning his principles.
Emmanuel Polanco, the principal of JHS 80 in the Norwood section, has been heating up the web with some steamy rap videos.
The scantily clad women he raps to on screen call him El Siki. And plenty of students have seen the videos which show their 30-year-old educational leader cozying up to the ladies at trendy clubs, making sexy moves on the dance floor and ordering up champagne.
“The kids may like it, but that’s not where we want the kids. We want them focused on their education,” said Thelma James, the mother of a seventh grader at the school.
“A principal is supposed to have respect for himself, and then for the class,” said the student’s grandmother, Gweneth James.
Polanco made the videos a while back, when he was an aspiring rapper. He’s been working in the city’s public school system since 2003, and now earns $127,115.
“I think he’s a good influence, makes a six figure check and he cares about the kids,” said Marcos Lopez, whose children go to the adjoining school.
A spokesperson for the Department of Education said: “We take parents’concerns seriously and are following up on them.
