MIDDLETOWN, NY (PIX11) – The man suspected of stabbing a 29-year-old woman repeatedly at a Bed Bath & Beyond in New Jersey Thursday is also the suspect in the torching of a cat on Christmas Eve, authorities said.
The suspect, Tyrik Haynes, 19, adopted a cat from the PetCo across the street from the store where the woman was attacked, according to the chief of Monmouth County’s SPCA. The SPCA said he burned the cat alive while it was in its carrier, by using a lighter and an aerosol spray can. The cat got away, and was apparently never found again.
In Thursday’s case, police say a young woman was peacefully shopping with her baby when Haynes came from behind and stabbed her a dozen times.
The suspect did not hurt the child but he left the mother bleeding on the store floor and took off. The woman remains in critical but stable condition.
“Oh my God, woah!” exclaimed one Middletown resident who was leaving the parking lot of the store once she realized why the was closed early.
Michael Mascolo of Middletown shares the sentiment.
“I’m shocked to hear what happened here, this is unbelievable.”

When are people going to learn that animal abusers turn out to commit heinous crimes against humanity, it's just a step in the cycle.

Knives are illegal, Carolyn. Perhaps you'd feel better if each shopper were issued a handgun upon entering a store so we could shop in peace.

This was a BED BATH & BEYOND–filled with big wooden cutting boards, heavy pots and pans, toaster ovens…and nobody picked something up to hit the guy?! Knock him out until the cops got there–he should have never been able to leave the store and run home across the street to the apartment complex!!!
And somebody doesn' t just up and decide to burn a cat to death while it's trapped in a cage (that's evil Hitler stuff) or suddenly stab someone. This kid went to Middletown High School North. There are guidance counselors and a child study team–not to mention his own mother and NOBODY notices any disturbing behavior in the years leading up to his recent horrific actions?! Gimme a break.

So true! Once again..just another case of dangerous mental illness that needs to be addressed very seriously before someone is stabbed or children get shot! … Burning cats alive..how much more of a cry out for help is there? How could that be ignored?

He should have been in a secure mental facility. Why wasn't he? Why can't we get that right, even when it's obvious how dangerously disturbed an individual is?

There is one word you can describe ceiling fans with lights – practical.
It also increases our expenses. The blades of the fan can also offer a classy or sophisticated
look, as they come in many different finishes and designs as
well.

Today, while I was at work, my cousin stole my apple ipad and tested to see if it can survive a twenty five foot drop, just so she can be a youtube
sensation. My apple ipad is now destroyed and she has 83
views. I know this is completely off topic but I had to
share it with someone!
