Rombout Fire Co. stepped up Sunday morning to lend a hand to the Point Breeze Volunteer Firefighter Company.

When superstorm Sandy devastated the Breezy Point area, the firehouse was not saved.  Seventy-five days later, the firehouse is still running on limited power, and the heating and electrical systems need to be completely replaced.

So the Rombout Fire Company decided it would donate the $2,155.18 generated by two monthly pancake breakfasts to the their Breezy point brethren.
