Sandy pet crisis: Animals get emergency foster care

In Nassau County, there’s a push to help Sandy pets.

Officials there have setup an emergency foster care program.

What it means is that temporary homes will be found for animals still waiting for their owners to find a place to live.

Since Sandy, an emergency pet shelter has been operating at the Mitchell Field Athletic Complex.
