NYC corrections officer allegedly shoots girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Police are questioning a corrections officer who allegedly shot his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend in a road rage incident in Brooklyn.

According to police sources, Kai gates followed Shalanda Smith, who was driving with her new beau, Dale Moore.

As the cars raced down the street, the exes reportedly started arguing,

Until Gates cut off smith’s car.

Gates then jumped out and appeared to be reaching for a weapon when Moore pulled out his gun and shot him.

Gates was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Smith and Moore both work at Rikers Island.

It’s not clear if Moore will face any charges.
