Incredible Pics: Family driven under pier by massive Australian wildfire
These photos are just one of many dramatic stories coming out of the wildfire that has devastated southeastern Australia — especially in the town of Dunalley.
These images that show what one lucky family went through, have gone viral.
Grandfather Tim Holmes, his wife Bonnie Walker, and her family drove away from an exploding, tornado of fire, fleeing t to the only place they hoped would not burn.
The heat was so intense that the dock itself would suddenly begin to burn, family members would desperately scoop water on the flames to keep it out.
In the photo the 11-year-old girl can be seen holding her 5-year-old brother up out of the water.
The grandfather, after nearly 3 hours, finally found a dinghy and took everyone to safety.
