Ticketmaster blunder: Tickets to Presidential Inauguration go on sale early
If you’re wondering why you can’t get tickets to President Obama’s inaugural ball or parade, Ticketmaster may be to blame.
The massive dealer put the tickets up for sale to the public on Sunday, even emailing an invitation to customers.
According to the White House, however, the tickets were set to go on sale Monday morning. Ticketmaster reportedly issued the following statement:
“During testing of our email system tonight, you may have inadvertently received an invitation to purchase tickets for 2013 Inauguration events, including the Inaugural Ball or the Inaugural Parade,” the apology read. “Public tickets to these events were originally scheduled to go on sale tomorrow morning — you received the email tonight in error, and Ticketmaster takes responsibility for this mistake.”
