Police gunned down a scissor-wielding man who threatened to stab a woman in a Brooklyn townhouse Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

Cops learned of the Fort Greene incident around 3:20 p.m.,  when a cop was summoned by the woman on Fulton Street about a disturbed man inside 48 Fort Green Place

When cops and the woman arrived back at the house, they found the man  holding a pair of scissors to his own throat.

According to a police account, the man then threw the woman to the floor and threatened to stab her.

The officer fired twice, striking the suspect in the torso.

The man, 40, was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he is in critical condition.

The officer, 25, was transported to Methodist Hospital for tinnitus, or ringing in the ears. The woman was not injured.

It was the second police-involved shooting in the city in 24 hours.
