The accused NYPD ‘cannibal cop’ wants prosecutors to release the names of his online pals as part of his defense.

Gilberto Valle faces charges of plotting to kidnap, cook and eat multiple women after police found an email trail in which he planned and fantasized with more than 20 people.

“Three weeks before trial, the defense needs to firmly know the identity of Mr. Valle’s alleged co-conspirators so that it can conduct its pretrial investigation,” public defender Julia Gatto wrote, according to the New York Post.

“Indeed, effective trial preparation could uncover facts critical to Mr. Valle’s defense in that the individuals with whom Mr. Valle was chatting likely will corroborate that they were engaging in fantasy role play with no intention of acting on their fantasies.”
