Foster mom frantic over missing Roosevelt Island boy, 10, not seen since Friday afternoon at school

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Police are searching for a 10-year-old boy who disappeared after school Friday afternoon.
Reginald Matthews was last seen on inside of P.S. 217 on Roosevelt Island. He did not show up for an after-school program, and when he didn’t return home, his foster mother called police.
“I pray to God that they find him,” an emotional Marcia Cole said.

REGGIE MISSING

The child nicknamed, “Reggie” has been living with his foster family for the past three months in a building just a block from the school.

Police are looking for his biological mother who was allowed supervised visits.

Reggie is described as approximately 5’1’, 150 lbs., with brown eyes, black hair in cornrows, and a mole behind his right ear.

Is any news organization investigating how he went missing from his school? (PS 217 on Roosevelt Island, Manhattan district 2, not Queens)

What are the updates on this case?
This child went missing and I have not seen any further update via the media since this story broke. His photo has been re-posted on Facebook over 13,000 via my friend's page and we are still posting up this information but have yet to hear any word.
Where is this child's natural mother?
Is there any surveillance from the school showing the child being removed? If no, why not?

Roosevelt Island is a small knit community between the boroughs of Queens and Manhattan (Officially Roosevelt Island itself is a part of Manhattan not Queens). There are only three ways on and off the island: via the bridge into Queens, the F train, and the AirTram into Midtown. There has to be surveillance video SOMEWHERE on that island showing this child's face.

Have the authority canvassed every building on the island? That would take only a day.
Have they canvassed the river for any evidence of him being there? Did this child suffer from depression? Could he have ran away? Would he and if so, how? Who did he know?

This little boy is one of our own who has gone through his own unfair share of trauma already (this is derived from the fact that the only information we know is that he has been placed in foster care). We DO NOT want this case to go cold.

Help us as a community with more information so that we can better help him. Please.

Based on her actions, it seems that the principal at PS/IS 217, Mandana Beckman, is actively trying to cover this up. In fact, this child went missing from her school because proper dismissal protocols were NOT followed. She doesn't want anyone to talk about it, and hasn't even provided the proper level of counseling to children that are struggling with this child's disappearance. She must be held accountable for her part in all of this for the sake of all of our children.
