Scientists are trying to figure out why a dead, 30-foot whale washed up on the coast of Florida.

It’s a North Atlantic right whale and it’s endangered. In fact, scientists say there’s less than 400 left in the world and it’s estimated to weigh about 30,000 pounds.

Scientists say the whale was likely born off the east coast of Florida and migrated back for the winter.
