O’Hare International Airport lays off 300 workers, hires scabs at lower pay

CHICAGO (PIX11) — It’s not going to be a very good holiday season for hundreds of airport workers in Chicago.
Three hundred janitors have been laid off at O’Hare International Airport.

The city says it’s a move that will save taxpayers millions of dollars.
The workers–who were union– are being replaced with non-union workers. Some of the janitors are being re-hired by the new company taking over at a lower wage.
