OIL SPILL STATEN ISLAND

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) — An oil barge leaked fuel into Mariner’s Harbor on Staten Island. The barge was carrying 112,000  gallons of fuel oil but it’s not clear how much spilled out. The fuel was being transported from one vessel to another when the leak was spotted.

Boston marine transport workers put a containment boom around the two barges. New York and New Jersey environmental agencies responded to help contain the spill.
