New $26 million athletic field at Brooklyn Bridge Park opens

There’s a new place to play in Brooklyn.

On Thursday, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced the opening of a new field and picnic area at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The city spent $26 million converting an abandoned shipping pier into three multi-purpose sports fields with artificial turf.
