LIPA to Sandy victims: No rate hike…for now

Capture2Victims of Hurricane Sandy on Long Island have one less thing to worry about as they try to get their lives back on track.

The Long Island Power Authority says there are no plans for a rate hike, at least now.  That is good news for LIPA customers angered over what they say had been sub-standard service after the storm.

The bill from Sandy could hit $950 million, but reimbursements from Washington will probably cover it, according to Newsday.
